Gerdau anuncia investimento de R$2,5 bilhões na usina de Ouro Branco
Para comemorar seus 120 anos, a Gerdau realizou nesta sexta-feira, 6 de agosto, um evento e anunciou que a empresa irá investir R$6 bilhões em Minas Gerais nos próximos cinco anos. A iniciativa visa modernizar, atualizar e aumentar a produção. Desse valor, R$2,5 bilhões serão direcionados para a usina em Ouro Branco na aquisição de um novo laminador de bobinas e máquinas de perfis. O prefeito Hélio Campos (PSDB) esteve presente no evento.
Com o investimento, especula-se que mais de seis mil postos de trabalho serão gerados em todo o estado. Os planos ainda incluem produção de carvão vegetal, descaracterização da barragem dos Alemães, em Ouro Preto, e implementação de tecnologias de empilhamento de rejeitos secos.
