Outros 44 já foram confirmados pelo Estado
A Secretaria de Estado de Saúde de Minas Gerais (SES-MG) atualizou nessa terça-feira (26) os dados referentes à monkeypox, conhecida como varíola dos macacos. De acordo com a pasta, o número de casos confirmados segue em 44 no Estado. Outros 69 pacientes suspeitos, de 23 municípios distintos, são investigados pela secretaria.
Até o momento, 70 casos foram descartados e outros dois foram classificados como prováveis para a doença. Conforme a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde, todos os casos confirmados até o momento no Estado são do sexo masculino, com idades entre 22 e 48 anos, e em boas condições clínicas.
Ao todo, duas pessoas estão internadas em Minas Gerais, devido à necessidade clínica e isolamento. Os indivíduos que tiveram contato com os contaminados pela doença estão em monitoramento.
Belo Horizonte é a cidade com o maior número de casos. São 32 confirmados, de acordo com o último boletim divulgado pela SES. O município é o único a registrar transmissão comunitária no Estado.
Quais são os sintomas da varíola dos macacos?
Os primeiros sintomas da varíola dos macacos são febre, dor de cabeça, dores musculares e nas costas, linfonodos inchados, calafrios e exaustão. A doença se desenvolve com lesões na pele, primeiramente no rosto. As lesões também podem se espalhar para outras partes do corpo, incluindo os genitais. As lesões na pele parecem as da catapora ou da sífilis até formarem uma crosta, que depois cai. Os sintomas podem ser leves ou graves, e as lesões na pele podem ser pruriginosas ou dolorosas.
Como a doença é transmitida?
A transmissão ocorre por contato próximo com lesões, fluidos corporais, gotículas respiratórias e materiais contaminados, como roupas de cama. A transmissão de humano para humano ocorre entre pessoas com contato físico próximo com casos sintomáticos. O contato próximo com pessoas infectadas ou materiais contaminados deve ser evitado. Luvas e outras roupas e equipamentos de proteção individual devem ser usados ao cuidar dos doentes, seja em uma unidade de saúde ou em casa.
